Selsey Christmas Celebrations

Festive Fun for All!  Community fun at the heart of celebration.

November 2019

With November upon us and December looming the town of Selsey are planning a day of events and family fun to kick start the Festive period.

Selsey Town Council are at the forefront of the celebrations and have organised an uplifting start to the festive season in the town, Cllr Glenda Baum, chair of the Events Working Group explains further "We've put together a traditional community event with the annual lantern parade at the very heart of our festive celebrations and an opportunity for our town to come together at this special time".

The fun begins at 4pm, with Burnetts Fun Fair and street food in the High Street; local retailers are invited to encourage the festive spirit by taking part in a Festive Window Competition.
All homemade lanterns (no real flames!) are welcome and local children can collect their free lantern bag from 4.30pm at St. Peters Church.  The parade leaves at 5pm, led by the local Coastguard crew and the Lions Club Santa Sleigh, with the band from T.S Sturdy and panto cast from Cloud 9 Musical Theatre joining in too.

Celebrations will continue throughout the evening with local retailers staying open late and the switch on of the tree lights and Selsey Community Choir leading the community in carols.
A road closure will be in place from south of Lewis Road to Sweets & Treats from 2.30pm until 8pm
